Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN SUDYN Suddenly on Tuesday, May 9, 2000, Stephen Sudyn, age 86 years, beloved husband of Eva, passed away at his residence. He was born on Sunday, April 19, 1914, in the village of Lublinec Stare Novit Lubacjiw, son of the late John and Katherine Sudyn. He immigrated to Canada in 1928 at the age of 14 to be reunited with his father and stepmother in Tyndall, Man. During the depression he worked where he could find work in the bush, cutting pulp, highways, harvesting, and during the War he worked in the Kordite Plant. In 1935 he bought a farm in Hazelridge, Man., and in 1943 he married Eva. In 1945 he moved to Winnipeg where he worked carpentry on various construction jobs. In 1950 he began working for the C.N.R. as a carman, retiring in 1979, at age 65. He was a lifelong member of Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, and of Local 550 Carman Union. He was predeceased by his father John in 1948, mother in 1925 in Europe, sister Kay in 1979 and stepmother in 1943. He is survived by his wife Eva; two sons, Lawrence and wife Patricia and David, all of Winnipeg; two grandsons, Jason, Michael and wife Heather; three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Scott and Kyle whom he cherished very much; one nephew Ray Sudyn and wife Eileen of Calgary and their family. Prayers will be sung on Friday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, May 13, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, corner of Watt and Munroe, Rt. Rev. Mitrat Gregory Oucharyk officiating. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Chrystos Voskres KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
