VALERE KOREEN On May 8, 2000, Valere Koreen, 82 years, passed away suddenly at the Thunder Bay General Hospital. Valere was predeceased by her sister Lenore of Thunder Bay in 1983 and her beloved husband Harris in 1987. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Glen and Richard in Winnipeg, and her son Terry in Korea; grandchildren, Julie, Robin, Brendan (Chrissy), Blythe, Danny, Angela, Ryan, Tiko, and Erin; and daughters-in-law, Margie, Diane, Shirley, and Marilyn McLean. She will also be missed by her brother Dan and sisters, Nola and Fadette in Thunder Bay. A much loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and sister, she will be missed for her strength, her quiet sense of humour, and her unconditional devotion to those she loved. At Valeres request cremation arrangements were entrusted to Everest of Thunder Bay and have been completed. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 70 North Court Street, Thunder Bay on May 27 at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to attend a reception directly after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Valeres memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2L 1X3.
