Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREV. DOYLE LESTER HOLTZMAN Peacefully, on Thursday, May 11, 2000, Doyle Holtzman passed away at Beacon Hill Lodge at the age of 95. Doyle will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Joyce Cumming (Ray) his son Edwin (Pat) granddaughters, Susan and Laura; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife Gerda, and brothers, Earl and Cecil. Doyle was born on July 18, 1904 and he grew up in Saskatoon, SK. He met Gerda while they were both teaching school and then became a candidate for the ministry of the United Church of Canada. He devoted his life to the work of the church and he was an inspiration to all of those whom he served. His ministry took him to churches in Saskatchewan and Alberta before moving to Manitoba where he served at Arden, Sperling, Gilbert Plains, Forrest and Strathclair. He and his wife Gerda enjoyed many years of retirement with continued service to the church, travel, hobbies and family. The family wishes to express special thanks to all of the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for their care, understanding and kindness. We also want to thank our special friend, Virginia Stadnick for her faithfulness to Doyle and his family. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr. A private interment will take place before the service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sturgeon Creek United church, 207 Thompson Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3E2, or to a charity of ones choice.
