STEFAN SIGURGEIR STEFANSON Peacefully, on Thursday, May 11, 2000 Stefan passed away at Central Park Lodge, after a lengthy illness at the age of 70. Stefan was born in Gimli on November 3, 1929. He was a lifelong resident of Hnausa, MB. At a young age he worked in the family business (Stefanson & Son General Store) alongside his father. In later years he took over the business which he enjoyed immensely until his retirement in 1999. Stefan was predeceased by his parents Sigurgeir and Runa; sister Gladys ONeill-Horvath and brother John. Stefan is survived by his nephews, Leslie (Sharron) and their children, Candace and Leslie Jr. of Selkirk, MB, Cliff and his sons, Chris (Lisa), their son Brody, and Steven (Paula) of Hnausa; brother-in-law Louis Horvath, Arborg, MB and cousins, Sigga Sigvaldson and family of Albert, Solla Johnson of Arborg, Grace and Harold Olafson of Ontario and Margaret Sigmundson of Gimli. The family extends a special thanks to the nursing staff at CPL, Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg and HSC Dialysis Unit for all their care and support. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church, with Pastor Susan Horton officiating. Interment in the Hnausa Cemetery Pallbearers will be his nephews, Leslie, Leslie Jr., Cliff, Chris and Steven ONeill and Louis Horvath. If friends so wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of their choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
