AUDREY DOREEN MARR Peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2000, Audrey Doreen Marr passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 73 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Myrtle Burnett of Selkirk. Audrey will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of almost 50 years, David and by her children, Elizabeth (Nick Slonosky) and grandchildren, David and Allison, and by her son Brock and grandchildren, Danielle, Lindsey, Roxanne and their mother Norma, all of Winnipeg. She is survived by three sisters, Eileen Tarrant (John) of Victoria, Evelyn Ross of Saskatoon and Mildred Hodgson (George) of Manitou as well as an aunt Emily Young of Selkirk. She also leaves to mourn numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Audrey was born in Selkirk, Man. on October 27, 1926 and grew up there. She later worked in Winnipeg where she met her husband and where they raised their children. Audrey defined herself by the way she lived her life. She was a devoted wife and mother who encouraged and supported her children in all things. She was generous of her time and energy to family and friends. She was sympathetic to others needs and never complained about her own. In spite of many illnesses, she was always courageous and optimistic about the future. Audrey enjoyed life, took pleasure in her home and garden and delighted in her grandchildren whom she could never spoil enough. Thank you to the wonderful home care workers and VON who lovingly looked after Audrey and to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital who were outstanding in their care and compassion to Audrey and the family. A memorial service will be held at the Broadway First Baptist Church, 790 Honeyman Ave. on Thursday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 or to a charity of choice. "If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys. A family shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My lifes been full, Ive savoured much, Good family, good times, A loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Dont lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts, and peace to Thee. God wanted me now; Im free." THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
