CATHERINE HARVEY (nee DOCHERTY) It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. She left us peacefully in her sleep at her home on May 13th, 2000. Cathleen was born in Scotland on September 1, 1938. She immigrated to Canada in 1958 as a new bride, to begin her lifelong adventure and raise her family in Pointe du Bois. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1975 where she was employed with the City of Winnipeg Water Works. She married Gordon Harvey in 1982. They later moved to Montreal where they spent two years then returned to the Lac du Bonnet area in 1985 where she was employed with Rene Lavoie and Lee Land Realty until her retirement in June of 1999. Her dedication to her family was an inspiration to all who knew her. She unselfishly gave of herself to everyone she met and in return touched the hearts of those who knew her. She has left us with an emptiness in our hearts but memories we will treasure through our lifetime as she was truly one of Gods most beautiful blessings. Cathleen was predeceased by her mother Mary, father Francis, brothers, Patrick and Francis, sister Theresa, her niece May, father of her children John Smith and her beloved husband Gordon. She leaves to mourn her passing her cherished children, Michael (Dianne) Smith, Mark Smith, Maureen (Jimmy) Hladki; three precious grandchildren, Michelle, Kristyn and Sean; step-daughter Susan (Ron) Balzer; sisters, Mary (Jim) Cullion and Sadie McGarrigle; in-laws, Gilbert (Kathleen) Sullivan, Winnie Docherty, Ione (Harold) Byetheway as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In keeping with Cathleens wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of her life on Thursday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lac du Bonnet Community Centre. If friends so desire donations can be made in her memory to the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home. Arrangements entrusted to: Russell Funeral Homes Beausejour, Manitoba Phone 268-2263
