HERMAN (Lefty) FUNK Peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2000 in the Riverview Health Centre, Herman (Lefty) Funk passed away at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his dear friend Laura Smith; daughter Marjorie (Charles) Keenan, grandsons, Terry, Allen and Craig (Lisa) Keenan and two great-grandchildren; daughter Barbara (Rev. Jamie) McDonald, granddaughters, Lee, Linsey, and Lauren McDonald. Also his two brothers, Jack (Lucille) and Jim (Carol) Franklin and two sisters, Ethel Petersen and Marjorie (Jake) Derksen of British Columbia as well as many nieces and nephews. Herman is predeceased by his parents and one brother Richard Funk. Herman was born in 1926 in Lowe Farm, Man. He achieved success as an electrician and in sports, where he got the nickname Lefty 8 Ender Funk. In 1998 he had a hole in one at the Pembina Golf course. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street with Padre Stan Millar officiating.
