JOHN F. HAMM John Frank Hamm was born Monday, December 11, 1899 at Annadale, MN, USA, one of eight children. He travelled with his parents from the U.S.A. settling in Bruno, SK in 1902. John married Kay Seidel, Tuesday, November 6, 1923 at St. Brunos Church. John farmed in the Bruno area until the couple moved to The Pas in 1945 when he started working for Frechettes Dairy until his retirement in 1966. John was a devoted and loving husband and father. He and Kay were rarely separated. His deep faith in God remained constant throughout his life. He was a gentle loving man, with a twinkle in his eye, wonderful smile and a great sense of humour. In his younger years, he loved to dance and sit down to a lively card game. Though his health was failing the last few months, his mind was still sharp and the humour still there. He loved to outwit his great-granddaughter Lisa at a game of checkers. He was a master of many things from crafts to "witching" for water. After he retired, John took walks, frequently meeting people at the post office, going to his regular coffee spot, and stopping at various businesses. His quick wit and ready smile was appreciated by everyone. A milestone this past year was John and Kays 76th wedding anniversary, something seldom accomplished by very few couples. John passed away Thursday evening, May 4 at St. Anthonys Hospital, The Pas, age 100 years, 4 months, 23 days. John will be remembered by his loving wife Kay; children, Del (Eloi) Libbrecht, Orville (Edwilda) Hamm, Verna Fowler, and Barbara Hamm; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lena Hamm (Calgary) as well as numerous other relatives and friends including brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Dorothy Seidel, Leo and Clara Fisher. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rose Hamm; seven brothers, William, Frances, Leo, Ben, Alois, Tony, and Alphonse; and son-in-law T.M. Fowler. A Christian Wake Service was held Monday, May 8, 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, led by Rev. James Ravenscroft with Yvette Gaudet as organist. Wayne Libbrecht spoke on behalf of the grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, May 9, 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral with Archbishop Peter A.
