Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHILAIRE JOSEPH ADELARD GOBEIL Born June 22, 1908 in St. Boniface Peacefully on May 15, 2000, at 2:15 a.m. at Foyer Valade after years with Alzheimer, Hilaire went home to his creator. Hilaire married Yvette (nee Bourcier) on September 17, 1938. They spent most of their life in South Junction. The last of his earthly journey was taken with his children and family at his side, which were all very dear to him. Dad leaves behind nine children and their families, Henry (Cecile), Rita Sanden (Ken), Jeanne Drebit (Ed), Lucie Tardiff (Romeo), Claudette Jackson (Bob), Roger (Angela), Anita Thompson (Wade), Yvonne Cherewayko (Jim) and Gisele Grawberger (Bert) 15 grandchildren, Pat (Yvon), Brian (Lisa), Danny, Brenda (Shaun), Richard, Lisa, Monique (Joey), Julien (Melody), Matthew (Sara), Andrew, Rayeann, Jason (Candy), Tyler, Dylan, Brock; three great-grandchildren, Brenden and Hayley Gobeil, and Christian Catelier. He also leaves two brothers, Fidelin and Paul and one sister Leonie VanderVelde; two sisters-in-law, Florentine Gagnon and Therese Beauchamp, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Yvette on April 21, 1997 and grandchild Norman Sanden in 1976, 11 brothers and sisters. Dad always expressed a "Joie de Vivre" through his jigs, songs and teasing, always happy in his own world. Special thanks to the second floor staff at Foyer Valade - "You are all very precious Gems in the lives of the residents and Dad was the receiver of such special dedicated loving care at all times." The family will be forever grateful. There are no words that can express the thanks. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19 at Notre-Dame-de-lAssomption Roman Catholic Church in South Junction, with Rev. Fr. Albert Bouffard, O.M.I. presiding. Viewing will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Family Room Fund" at Foyer Valade, 450 River Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 5M4 or to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St. - Unit 10, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
