MICHAEL TROCHIM Suddenly, on Tuesday, May 16 at the Grace Hospital, Michael, beloved husband of Nellie, passed away at the age of 79 years. Michael was born in Libau, Manitoba, on November 12, 1921. He spent his working years at CNR, where he was employed as a Carman for 37 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Lena and Nicholas, and by his brother Joe and sister Julia. Michael leaves to mourn his passing his wife Nellie of 52 years, and his children Valerie Jakul (Randy - children Paul and Laura), Donald (Sharon - children Erin, Andrea and Kristen), Barbara Wilkinson (Paul - children Garlen and Zoe), Lawrence (Debbie - children Shaun and Bryan) and Cathy Spear (Rob and Jacqueline). Mike also leaves to cherish his memory four brothers, Peter (Stella), Bill (Stella), Leonard (Reva), Dan (Elaine), and two sisters Olga Manitowich (Tony), and Nell Apshkrum (Norman), and many nieces and nephews. A prayer service for Michael will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Paul the Apostle Parish, 2400 Portage Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, in St. Paul the Apostle Parish, with Fr. Vince Herner presiding. The service will terminate at the church. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, a memorial donation may be made in Michaels memory to the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, 740-500 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 3X1.
