Dolly was predeceased by her husband Grimsi on July 27, 1986; her parents, Sam and Isabella Forbister; brothers, Mervin, Tache, Elmer and Walter; and stepfather Joe Jonatonson. She will be fondly remembered by her children, daughters, Merilyn Baldwinson (Neil) of Gimli and Solly Thorsteinson (Olafur) of Riverton; sons, Ivan (Christine) of Riverton, Dennis (Betty) of Arnes and Curtis of Gimli; her grandchildren, Darrell (Sheila), Glenda (Dennis), Tracey (Rob), Dennis (Dawn), Kelly (Grant), Roxanne (Cameron), Derek (Cindy), Bobby (Kathy), Christopher, Shara-Lynn (Darren), Darren, Kendra (Karsten), Jacey, Colleen, Correen, Lorne and Leslee; 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nona of Kamloops, BC and Gertie of Selkirk; brothers-in-law Skapti (Ruby) of Prince Rupert, BC and Oli of Edmonton, AB; sisters-in-law, Johanna of Hecla, Ola and Margaret of Riverton and Pat of Nanaimo, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mom was born in Lundar and moved to Riverton at an early age. She married Dad and moved to Hecla in 1940 where they lived and raised their family. Mom enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her grandchildren. She was well known for her delicious Icelandic brown bread and home baking, especially raisin pie. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and was always ready for a game of cards. Mom was an avid gardener and took great pride in having her family over for get togethers. She came from a musical family and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. She would also spend her leisure time playing her tapes of local talent and country music. At Moms request cremation has taken place and a Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church with Pastors Susan Horton and Neill von Gunton officiating. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be her honorary pallbearers. Donations in her memory can be made to the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. "Its hard to let you go Mom, but it is comforting to know that you are walking hand in hand with Dad in Gods great garden above." GODA NOTT ELSKAN Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
