DOROTHY JEAN BARFORD APRIL 12, 1917 - MAY 15, 2000 On Monday, May 15, 2000 at McCreary PCH, Dorothy Barford, beloved wife of the late Harold Barford, passed away at the age of 83 years. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her children, Hazel Asham, Kinosota, MB, Judy and Larry Stuckel, Alexander, MB, John and Sharon Barford, Grande Prairie, AB, Ed and Garda Barford, Edson, AB; by her grandchildren, Barb Schultz, Alonsa, MB, Benson Bourassa, 100 Mile House, BC, Brent Asham and Rhonda Bourassa, Kinosota, MB, Bev Napper, Winnipeg, Sherri Gervais and Tammy Ewasko, Grande Prairie, AB and Eddie Barford, Edson, AB; by her 12 great-grandchildren; also her brother Jack (Helen) Hurst of BC; her sisters, Kay (Alvin) Ruddell of Minnedosa and Marguerite of Portage la Prairie, MB and by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her dear husband Harold; brother Kenneth; brother-in-law Roy; son-in-law Ray and infant grandson Dean. Dorothy loved to be outdoors, fishing, gardening and wildlife viewing. She also enjoyed playing bingo, quilting, knitting and cooking, but her family was her greatest joy. She often said that grandchildren were the best, because you could spoil them rotten and send them home to their parents. We all loved Grandma and Grandpa very much. Their home was a refuge where we could always expect a warm welcome. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19 at St. Bedes Anglican Church at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Crossland officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
