Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT G. PHILPOTT Peacefully with his family at his side Albert passed away on Thursday May 18, 2000 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 75. His memory will be forever treasured by his loving wife of 52 years, Hazel; his daughter, Brenda (Rick Sabescay) grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley; his son Wayne (Mira) his sister Mabel (Ted) brothers, Henry, Frank (Shirley) as well as numerous nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Albert was predeceased by his mother and father and his brother, Dudley. "Bert" was born on November 24, 1924 in Teulon, MB. Dad served in the Second World War with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry and fought for his country in Italy, France and Germany. Dad remained a member of the West Kildonan Legion No. 30. Following the war, Dad returned to his position working with Eatons where he continued to work, and after 43 years of service he retired in January of 1985. Bert loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, bird watching, his annual fishing trips and most of all he enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing hockey. Dad was a wonderful husband, lover, friend, companion, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed. At Dads request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 24 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and a reception will be held at Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on the fifth floor of Seven Oaks Hospital units 2 & 3 for their compassionate care over the last week.
