DANIEL SCHILKE December 7, 1920 - May 17, 2000 Peacefully after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, our dear husband and father passed away at the age of 79 years at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Man. Daniel will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Elsie and two daughters, Bernice and Gene Pytlinski of Waterloo, Ont. and Audrey and Tom Choropita of Winnipeg, Man. He is survived by his brother Ernest (Lena) Shilke of Burnaby, B.C.; sister Helen (Fred) Buss of Washington State; sister-in-law Norma Hellsten of Thunder Bay, Ont., four nephews and one niece. He was predeceased by his parents, Rudolph and Emilie and brother Henry. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 22 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 465 Henry St., Steinbach, Man. with Pastor Al Maier officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery, Hwy. #12 South, Steinbach. Viewing will take place on Sunday, May 21 between 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach and at the church prior to the service. Should family and friends so desire, donations may be made in Dans memory to the Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation of Manitoba. He knew you were in pain, He knew you might never Get well upon this earth again. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered "Peace be thine."
