GLENN WILKINSON In the early morning of Friday, May 19, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer, Glenn passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre with his loving family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife Maureen (nee Arsenault) of 49 years; son Riley (Colleen) of Winnipeg; daughter Colleen of Ormond Beach, Florida and son Tim (Denise) of Winnipeg. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Apryl, Chad, Brett, Scott, Andrea, Vanessa, Kyle, Garret and two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Alexandra. He is also survived by his brother Jack (Muriel) sister Babbi ("Mac") and numerous family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Olive, and brother Roy. Glenn was born September 2, 1926 in Indian Head, Saskatchewan and was raised on the family farm near Belcarres, Saskatchewan. He joined the R.C.N.V.R. in 1944, and upon discharge in 1946, relocated to Winnipeg. While working in Seven Sisters, Man., he met Maureen and they were married July 28, 1951. Glenn and Maureen moved to Windsor Park in 1958 and raised their family there. Glenn worked in sales and retired from Canadian Great Western Express in 1990, after 27 years. Glenn enjoyed summers at his cottage at West Hawk Lake and spent many winters in Miami, Florida and later Daytona Beach, Florida. Dad enjoyed golf, working in his yard at home and his cottage, and spending time with his family. Dad was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by everyone he touched. A celebration of Glenns life will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24 in the chapel of Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Mint). Interment, Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. The family would like to thank Cathy and Penny in Oncology at the Victoria Hospital, Dr. H. Marr and the staff of Riverview 3 East for their loving care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenns memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Wpg., MB, R2L 1X3. I asked God to spare me pain and God said, "No".
