WILLIAM JANKE (Uncle Willy) On May 18, 2000 Uncle Willy went peacefully to join his maker. William was born November 2, 1918 in Green Bay (Brokenhead Municipality). He lived on the family farm where he worked and enjoyed his horses. He moved to Winnipeg with his mother to live with brother Dan and family in 1960. In 1986 he was confined to a wheelchair and moved into Tuxedo Villa where he was given exceptional tender loving care. Willy was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Friedrich, Herman, Daniel, Albert and Alfred; also by his sisters, Martha, Edith and Annie. Uncle Willy had many friends and leaves to mourn his brothers, Arthur and wife Lorraine, Edward and wife Mary; and sister-in-law Mary (Dans wife). He has many nieces and nephews who will never forget his ever ready smile. Thanks to all the staff and numerous visitors who made Uncle Willys life happy while he resided at Tuxedo Villa. Also a huge thank you to the staff of St. Boniface Hospital in Emergency and Palliative Care Units for the wonderful care and compassion they gave to us on Willys last day. A family graveside service will be held in Green Bay Cemetery on Tuesday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. Rose Ferries will be presiding. Sobering Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
