ELEANOR RUTH BURMASTER (BROWNING) After a courageous year-long battle with cancer, "Ellie" passed away peacefully at Riverview Healthcare Centre on Sunday, May 21, 2000. Born September 8th, 1945, she was predeceased by her brother John; Father and Mother. Besides her husband Ralph and son Michael, Ellie leaves to mourn her passing her twin sister Elaine; brother Harry; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many other loving relatives and friends particularly her special friend and soul-mate Eddie. Ellie had a wonderful sense of humour which saw her through many illnesses. Not one to feel sorry for herself, she always put everyone else at ease. One of her greatest attributes was her interest in other people and she had a way of making everyone feel comfortable. Her home was open to all. She especially enjoyed attending her 40th Grant Park High School Reunion last October meeting old friends and acquaintances. Though they lived miles apart, Ellie and her twin always kept in constant contact and enjoyed a close loving relationship through the years. For the last four months, Harry, her brother, seldom left her side, sleeping on a sleeping bag on the floor of her apartment tending to her needs. According to Ellies wishes she wanted a family viewing to be held Wednesday, May 24, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. with a Funeral Service to be held at Fort Garry Mennonite Brethren Church, 1771 Pembina Hwy., Thursday, May 25 at 1:00 p.m. A brief interment ceremony will be held after the service at St. Vital Cemetery, followed by a lunch back at the church. Pallbearers will be Michael OConnor, Tim Jones, Jake Heibert, Terry Goertzen, Ernie Vosper and Ed McLaughlin. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, contributions can be made to the New Victoria Hospital Oncology Unit. Ellie, your courage through the years has been a great example to us all. Until we meet again, rest safely in Jesus arms. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
