Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANIS BRIDGES (PURCHA) It is with sorrow that the family announces the passing of Stanis Bridges on Saturday, May 20, 2000 at the Victoria Hospital. Stanis leaves to mourn Ernie her loving husband of 44 years; son Gregory (Leslie) and grandchildren, Ryan and Colin, sons, Kevin and Andrew; twin sister Bernice Dubanski (Joe) and niece Terese and nephew Gerry; sister-in-law Theresa Zaretski and niece Karen. Stanis was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Purcha; nephew John Dubanski and brother-in-law Lenard Zaretski. Stanis was born July 15, 1934, in Winnipeg. She graduated from St. Marys Academy in 1951 and the Faculty of Home Economics at the University of Manitoba in 1955. Before her career raising three sons she taught Home Economics at several schools. Stanis for many years was a member of the University of Manitoba Faculty Wives Association and the Professional Engineers Wives Association. Most of all she enjoyed summers at the family cottage on the shore of Lake Winnipeg and Spruce Bay. After retiring with Ernie, Stanis greatly enjoyed winter vacations at Bonita Beach, FL. Mom, you were very devoted to your family, and took such pleasure in arranging the many family gatherings throughout the year. You always enjoyed our humourous banter. We love you very much and you will be really missed. Ryan and Colin will miss singing, dancing and playing with their grandma. There will always be a soft spot on their tummies for your kisses. God be with you Stashia, my love forever, see you in Heaven. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg. Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. and mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. P.A. Morand officiating. Interment to follow at the parish cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations can be made to the St. Vital Parish School (St. Maurice) or a charity of choice. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements; 586-8044.
