EDWARD PETRIE On Sunday, May 21, 2000 Edward Petrie passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital at age 89. His memory will be forever treasured by Leoneda Olga (nee Buth), beloved wife of 67 years of marriage; his son Leonard (Shirley) grandchildren, Valerie (Robin McTaggart), Larry (Barbara), Marcia (Chris Scott), Ross (Leann) and great-grandchildren, Chelsie and Brianne Scott, Rachel and Abbey Petrie, Katie and Michael McTaggart. He is also survived by his sister Katherine, brother William, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Babetta and father Martin, brothers Martin, George, Jack, and Henry, sisters Carolyn, Marian, Barbara, and Emily. Edward was born March 11, 1911 in Winnipeg. He attended St. Johns Technical High School and later graduated from Success Business College as an accountant. He was initially employed by Gypsum Lime Company and then spent 47 years at Western Paper Box, Zenith Printing and L. Meltzer Company. In 1984 he retired. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff on the third floor at the Concordia Hospital for their kindness and exceptionally fine care during his final days. The body has been contributed to the University of Manitoba for the advancement of medicine through anatomical study. A private memorial service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined.
