WILLIAM (BILL) RIPAK Peacefully, on Sunday, May 21, 2000, William Ripak, aged 56 years. Bill is survived by his wife Sherry; son Daniel; mother Tetiana; sisters, Olga (Metro) Michalchuk, Mary (Harry) Nichiporik of Edmonton; brother-in-law Fred (Sandy) Allen; sister-in-law Donna Allen of Chicago; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Dmytro in 1997. Bill was born and raised in Winnipeg. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Science. He was employed as a chemist at Ray-O-Vac for many years and later at Boeing Canada as Quality Control Inspector. In his youth, he was a member of the Ukrainian National Youth Federation where he performed with the dance group. Bill became actively involved in the early formation of the Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble in the staging aspects of its numerous performances over the years. He enjoyed many trips with the group which took him to various parts of the world, among which were Scotland, Ukraine and the Orient. Bill enjoyed and looked forward to spending summer days with all the family at the lake in Gimli. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 26 also at the chapel with Very Rev. J. Melnyk officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Donations may be made in Bills memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, R3C 0S6 or a charity of ones choice. The family is saddened by the sudden passing of Bill.
