A.W.P. HARRISON Died peacefully May 26, 2000 at Riverview Health Centre. Arch was born in Winnipeg in 1913. He was the eldest son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Harrison. He was predeceased by his mother and father and two brothers, Alan and Page Harrison. Left to give thanks for his life are his wife of 58 years, Dossie; four children, Dossie Misener (Paul), Jane Edwards (John), Tom (Janet), John (Kathy) grandchildren, Chris, DeeDee, Craig Misener, Casey, Andrew, Zara, Amy Harrison, Michael, Matthew and Robbie Edwards; Anna, Will, Cailyn Harrison; one sister Meryl Malcolmson and family. Arch received his education at Kelvin High School and the University of Manitoba. He worked for Dominion Malting before the war. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy and after the war worked for T. Eaton Co. where he remained until his retirement. Arch was a man of enormous inner strength, silent faith and unwavering loyalty to family and friends. Community minded, he served on Council at Winnipeg Beach for 20 years, 14 of those as Mayor of the Town. He enjoyed his association and friendship with both permanent and summer residents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31 at 11:30 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with Rev. Robert Campbell and Rose Ferries officiating. Flowers graciously declined.
