Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEARL MARCUS MYERS Peacefully at the Eriksdale Hospital on May 26, 2000, after a lengthy struggle with cancer, Earl Marcus Myers, aged 77 years. Earl was born in Cypress River, Man. on June 11, 1922. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 1998; his parents, Edward and Margaret, and sisters, Rowena Gysin and Grace Myers. Earl is survived by two step-daughters, Phyllis (Perry) Hallett of Boissevain, grandson Gordon (Monique) and great-granddaughter Colleen of Brandon; Audrey (Larry) McCrady of Morris, grandsons, Blake of Morris and Clayton (Lindsay) of Winnipeg and in-laws, Rudolph Gysin of Glenboro, Ross and May Orr, Huntsville, Ontario and George and Vi King of Eriksdale. Earl first moved to the Eriksdale district in the late 1950s and married Margaret Henderson in 1961. He farmed and worked at many different jobs. He retired in 1983 after completing 17 years with the Department of Highways. Earl enjoyed animals, especially horses and cats. He spent many hours in his workshops creating unique items such as bells, mallets, pencil holders, games and model tractors. He loved his red Ford trucks. He was known for his freshly ground whole wheat flour that he shared with friends. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 30 at the Eriksdale Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. The family would like to thank friends who visited Earl both at home and in the hospital. A special thanks to Dr. Styne, nurses and staff of E.M. Crowe Hospital and the doctors and staff at Cancer Care Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eriksdale Palliative Care Unit, Eriksdale, Man., R0C 0W0.
