RICHARD (DICK) JOHN DEIBERT Richard, beloved husband of Rose, passed away peacefully at 63 years of age on May 24, 2000 at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. Dick will be missed by sons, Gordon and Donald of BC, Darrell (Joan) mother-in-law Mary Siatecki; sisters, Martha (Bill) Koblansky and Mary Green, all of Winnipeg and Betty Kehler of AB; and brothers, George (Ida) and Ron (Bev) of AB. Many other relatives and good friends will also cherish memories of Dick. Dicks mechanical abilities led him to employment with various companies over the years that included Standard Aero, Midwest Drilling, Browning-Ferris Ind. and the D.E.W. Line. Dick loved to be outdoors and this was reflected in the huge garden that he and Rose planted and harvested every year. He also made many "wood trips" every fall to ensure the comfort of a warm fire would burn in their wood stove through the winter. Dick had an extraordinary sense of humour that never left him even when things were at their worst. Not even his extended battle with cancer could break his spirit for a good chuckle until in the end it was the disease that took him - but not our memories of him. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Ron Robbins for his special caring and support. Also grateful thanks to Drs. Sutherland, Kerr, Chowdry and nurses that assisted him during his time of need. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dicks memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., or to a charity of choice. A memorial service will take place Monday, May 29 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. at 12:30 p.m. In accordance with Richards wishes, interment of his cremated remains will follow thereafter. Only the soul that knows the mighty grief can know the mighty rapture. Sorrows come to stretch our spaces in the heart for joy.
