Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTRIGVI "TEX" REYKDAL Peacefully with his family at his side, Tex, a lifelong resident of Winnipeg Beach, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2000 at the Selkirk General Hospital, at the age of 76 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Ethel; his son Terry (Sandra) daughter Lynn (Harold) Burton; daughter-in-law Ilean; grandchildren, Stacey (Paul), Jamie (Debbie), Tamra, Leslie and Ryan (Leslie) great-grandchildren, Alix and Tex; stepsons, Alan, Ian (Lori), Donald (Angel) and their daughter Rayne, Roderick (Sonia) and their daughter Monique; a brother Chris (Jean) and sisters, Margaret, Dolly (Joe) and Grace. Tex was predeceased by his beloved wife Florence (Aitkenhead) son Ronald; daughter Mary Ann and four brothers and three sisters. Tex was born on July 18, 1923 at home in Winnipeg Beach and lived his entire life there. Tex opened Texs Esso Service in May, 1955 and operated it until his retirement. He was actively involved in the community and had served as school trustee for many years and volunteered his time at the curling club and for the Wonderful Winter Weekend. Tex was an avid hunter and fisherman and in his later years enjoyed dancing and fellowship with his friends. Prayers will be said on Sunday, May 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 29 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Winnipeg Beach with Rev. Jack Bays officiating. Interment in the Winnipeg Beach Community Cemetery. Everybody who was his friend is an honorary pallbearer. He knew you were in pain, He knew you might never Get well upon this earth again He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you But you never went alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
