FRANCES STEFANSON (nee BYRA) On Sunday, May 28, 2000 at St. Boniface Hospital, Frances Stefanson, age 79 years, formerly of Arborg, MB. Born September 16, 1920 at Shorncliffe, MB. Frances had lived in the Ledwyn District until 1960 when she moved to Arborg. She was employed at the Arborg Hospital a number of years retiring to Winnipeg in 1981. Predeceased by her first husband John Byra in 1967; daughter Joan in 1965; her second husband John Stefanson in 1979; half sisters, Marie and Stella; brother Walter and stepbrother Mike. Surviving to mourn her loss, son Joseph (Teresa) Byra of Selkirk, son Dan (Pauline) Byra of Winnipeg, son Frank (Elaine) Byra of Winnipeg; daughter Diane Therres of Calgary; special friend Mike Bidochka; grandchildren, Joanne Walford, Yvonne Kozak, Jonathon Byra, Tracy Williams, Daniel Byra, Marcy Byra, Angie Byra, Kelly Byra, Lee Therres, Michelle Therres, Joseph Byra Jr. and Jennifer Byra; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica Kozak, Zackary, Ashley and Drew Williams; Abigail and Kassidy Byra; half sisters, Bernice Skrynyk and Anne Karas and her cousin Marie Chwaliboga. Mom was a very warm, kind, loving and generous person. She will be remembered by her family and friends. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, June 1 at the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel. Rev. Fr. E. Rudachek will officiate with interment to follow in St. Philips Cemetery Arborg. Pallbearers will be Daniel Byra, Jonathon Byra, Kevin Kozak, Owen Williams, Ed Klmochko and Derrick Davy. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
