JAY ANTHONY RYAN
Date of Passing: May 27, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAY ANTHONY RYAN McLAUGHLIN Sadly on Saturday, May 27, 2000, one day before his 21st Birthday, Anthony was taken from us - tragically taken at a time when his life should be beginning, not ending. He is survived by his Mom and Dad, Donna and Jack McLaughlin; his sister Cindy; brothers John and Jarett; Grandfather John McLaughlin; Grandmother Stella Lee and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Anthony had a zest for life and enjoyed so many things. He graduated from Churchill High School with Honors in 1997 and continued on to the University of Manitoba where he was in his second year in the Faculty of Management. He loved his sports - a grinder on the ice in hockey; winning two championships in a row with the Fort Garry Fort Rouge Major Junior Twins. He played with "reckless abandon" never a quitter. He loved baseball, golf, his friends, Mexico, humour, his one-liner comebacks, his Buddies, starting his day reading the paper, Piers Anthony, fishing, cooking, fresh fruit, planning the layout of the garden, peas and peppers. He touched the hearts of all he knew and was loved by everyone. He was the Sunshine in our lives from the day he was born and will be missed immensely. Pallbearers are his brothers John and Jarett, cousin Michael McPhee, friends Nathan Boey, Matt Kulczycki, Chris Moxley, Jeremy Kossman and Bob MacGregor. Honorary Pallbearers cousins Jason and Gord Mulholland, dear friends Jean Paul Richard and Mark Miller. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anthony McLaughlin Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Royal Bank, Osborne and Walker Street. A special thank-you to Leona in ICU at Health Sciences Centre for the wonderful care she gave to our Son and Brother. Also, to all our friends and neighbours who helped in so many ways. We love you forever. The celebration of Anthonys life will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 31 at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive with the Reverend Linda Murray presiding. Visitation and viewing will take place one hour prior to the service time Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, and a gathering of family and friends will follow in the Sturgeon Creek United Church Rainbow Room.
