JOHN LOUIS BLANCHARD Peacefully, on Saturday, May 27, 2000 at the St. Boniface General Hospital, John Blanchard of Winnipeg passed away at the age of 83 years, beloved husband of the late Marion Blanchard (nee Hubbard) who predeceased him on April 15, 1999. John was employed at Bristol Aerospace Industries prior to his retirement. He loved spending time with his family and at home or you could find him in his garden. He was fond of classical music and enjoyed watching football, baseball, hockey, soccer and reading alot. During his more active years, John enjoyed camping. He especially loved his vacation in the Yukon with his wife and grandson. He is survived by sons, Robert (Janet) and William (Belinda) daughter Marsha (Martin) Ingham; grandchildren, Susanne, Sarah, Heather, Anthony, Jennifer, Johnathan and Kristen; and by four great-grandchildren, Steven, Brodie, Brittanie and Bradie. On Thursday, June 1 at 7:00 p.m., a Service of Remembrance celebrating Johns life will be held in Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to Drs. Ilnyckyj, Duerksen, and Silverman for their efforts and to Dr. Ip, his family physician. A special thanks to the staff of 7th Floor South Wing of the St. Boniface General Hospital and to the nurses who took care of him during his last year; to the home care workers and to the VONs, especially Collettee, who assisted and administered to his needs during his lengthy illness. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Johns memory to a charity of ones choice.
