HARRY VAN WALLEGHEM January 7, 1906 - May 29, 2000 Peacefully on May 29, 2000, Harry Van Walleghem of Tyndall passed away at the Beausejour District Hospital at the age of 94 years. Dad was born into a loving and caring family of seven sisters and five brothers and was raised in the Whitemouth and Darwin areas. In his younger years, he was a bushman, trapper and hunter. Later, He worked in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator in various parts of Canada. After his marriage, Dad lived first in Tyndall then Winnipeg and upon retiring, moved back to Tyndall where he resided out his remaining years. Dad is survived by his son Delbert (Katy) of Edmonton, Alta. and his son William (Bill) and wife Edythe of Coquitlam, B.C. and son-in-law Peter Kroeker of Tyndall, Man; his grandchildren, Alan Van Walleghem; Courtney and Carey Van Walleghem; Harry (Donna), Doug (Diane) and Brent Kroeker. Dad had one great-grandchild, Codi Sandra Anne Kroeker. He is also survived by his last remaining brother Julius of Whitemouth. Dad leaves many, many, nieces, nephews and friends. Harry (Dad) was predeceased by his wife Mildred (Sinclair) and daughter Sandra Kroeker; brothers, Alfred, Charles, John and Joseph; sisters, Marie, Bertha, Eloudie, Emily, Jane, Isny and Elsie. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Emma (Van Meirhaeghe) from Belgium and in-laws, William and Louise Anne (Thomas) Sinclair of Tyndall. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. East, Beausejour, Man., with Rev. Tony Maunder officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Zeiler and the home care workers of Tyndall, Barb and Sharon and the staff at the Beausejour Hospital. A special thanks to our cousin Emma (Bartley) Huck for the many things she did for our Dad. A heartfelt thanks from all the family to Peter Kroeker for his constant loving care, dedication and understanding throughout the years.
