Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJENNIE TOBIE (nee HOLINSKI) On May 29, 2000, with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas; son Orest and infant daughter; two sisters, Lena of Calgary and Caroline Martyniuk of Winnipeg. Left to cherish her memory are her three sisters, Stella and Edna of Winnipeg and Helen of British Columbia; five children, Rita (Tony) Giancola, Carol (Don) Slota, Ruth Sushelnitski of Kamsack, SK, Rose and Roy (Mae) Tobie; her much loved grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Arnie Sushelnitski, Lisa Kozokoff, Lori, Randy (Michelle) Slota, Orest (Deanna), Giulio (Jessica) Giancola, Leanne (Peter) Wolfe and Glen (Mel) Tobie; also 15 great-grandchildren. Jennie was born on May 26, 1910 in Halifax, NS. She loved her family, neighbours and friends. She spent lots of time cooking and gardening. Jennie enjoyed entertaining people who dropped by. The doors were always opened. She liked playing bingo at the drop-in centre with the seniors. She was faithful to her church and kept the family together. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 1 at St. Michaels Ukrainian Church, 400 Day St. Interment will follow at the Transcona Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Martyniuk, Ron Roccola, Tony Giancola, Don Slota and Todd Barinuik. Pallbearers will be Orest and Giulio Giancola, Randy Slota, Glen Tobie, Peter Wolfe and Randy Barinuik. We would like to thank everyone at the Concordia Hospital (Northeast Wing) for caring and our sincere thanks to the Charleswood Care Centre for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (Manitoba Division), 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or to the charity of your choice.
