LINNEA MARIA SAHLSTROM Peacefully, on Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Fort Garry Care Centre, Linnea Maria Sahlstrom (nee Pulli), beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 93 years. Linnea was born in Teuva, Finland on August 28, 1906. Linnea was predeceased by her husband Helmer Alexander Sahlstrom, in May, 1964. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Eila Gill (Robert) of Winnipeg and son Alle Pulli (Elli) of Sweden. Along with grandchildren, Gloria McNabb (Wayne), Diane Jankiewicz (Mike), and Brenda Robinson (Rob Frank) and great-grandchildren, Sharlene Lambert (Dan), Chris McNabb, Ryan Jankiewicz, Roxanne and Kimberley Robinson, all of Winnipeg, as well as seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren in Sweden. Linnea was born in Finland and immigrated to Canada arriving on the ship Montclare on May 14, 1927. She married her husband Helmer on May 20, 1928 in Kenogami, Que. She lived in Montreal until 1979 when she moved to Winnipeg. Linnea was hardworking and enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, bingo and her dogs. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Fort Garry Care Centre for their kindness, helpfulness and excellent care. Cremation has taken place and Linnea will be buried next to her husband in Montreal. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Reception Centre. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
