Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADA ISABELLA BLOOMFIELD (nee COOK) Surrounded by family and friends, peacefully on Wednesday, Ada Bloomfield (Cook), January 23, 1914 - May 31,2000. Mom has gone to meet the mother she never knew, Marla Cellma Isabella Louisa Cook (nee Murdock-Watters) of Montreal (1879-1916). Ada was predeceased by her husband Augustus (Gus) S. Bloomfield (1902-1985), her father Percy Cook Sr. of Aylesford, England (1870-1947), siblings Percy Jr. (Julie) (1906-1981), Alex (Dorothy) (1907-1951), Annie Louisa Everetta "Nancy" Smith (Ivan Thompson) (1908-1972) Ernie (Vi) (1912-1966), two stepmothers and her Uncle George and Aunt Ada Hammond of Maple Creek, Sask. Mom is survived by her children George (her special one), Arthur (Wendy) and their children, Allan, Jamie (Charmaine), and Victoria; Pam Hawkes (Ivan Baker) and her children, Dianne (Steve) and Greg, and Howard (Beth). She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Michael and Dakota, and many relatives and friends in Canada, USA and the UK. Survived also by sisters-in-law, Alice of Winnipeg and Florence of Dauphin. Missing her greatly is Robin, her beloved Chihuahua and constant companion. Mom had many high points in her life, including owning and operating Garritoba Kennels in Fort Garry where she bred Airedales, Beagles and Chihuahuas; being made a lifetime member of the Canadian Kennel Club; her wonderful 80th birthday party; a special invitation to Government House by former Lieutenant Governor Yvon Dumont; and her trips to Newfoundland to see Pam and Ivan. Mom had a special place in her heart for her sister-in-law Alice who was closer than any one in her life and her very best friend Dell Millitare. But above all else, her greatest joy was experiencing the wonders of childhood with her children. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Allan, Jamie and Victoria and nephews Gilbert (Gil) Cook and Tom Bloomfield and niece Margaret Bourdeau. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren in Calgary, Dianne and Greg and special people in her life Alice Bloomfield, Dell Millitare, niece Sandi Cook, Kathy Lapointe and Kim Hamel. Viewing will take place on Friday, June 2 at Neil Bardal Inc., Portage and Aubrey from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A celebration of Adas life will take place at Neil Bardal Inc., Saturday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Chapel Lawn. A time of sharing memories will be held following the interment. A special thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Victoria Hospital for their compassion and the excellent care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Victoria Hospital M.R.U., 2340 Pembina Hwy. or the South Family "Y" Seniors Program, 5 Fermor St. All her life, our mom gave selflessly to others. She will be sadly missed by all. We will be together again. Grandma: I thank you for the love you gave me, and the inspiration you brought to my life. Your strength and your courage amazed me every day ad I am thankful to have had the chance to know you as well as I do! You..., your stories..., your whole life, will forever remain a part of me and will always be reflected in my life.
