DOROTHY JEAN LAMBKIN Peacefully, after a brief illness, Dorothy Jean Lambkin passed away, Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 82. She was predeceased by her husband Wilf; sisters, Rene Irwin, Jess McDonald; and brother Babe Gordon. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her son Claude (Elaine) grandchildren, Jeff (Monica), Kelly (Steve) Moon; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Janessa Lambkin, and another great-grandchild on the way; sister Muriel Irwin; and brother Lloyd Gordon; numerous nieces, nephews; and her beloved pet Rene. Dorothy was born in Belmont, MB on August 18, 1917 to William and Margaret Gordon. She was married to Wilf on July 29, 1940. Dorothy took a great interest in her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Gammy". She greatly enjoyed ceramics, decoupage, gardening and bowling which she did twice a week until Christmas of 1999. Her poodle Rene was Dorothys constant companion for the last 15 years. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 5 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with Major Gordon Jarvis officiating. The family wish to thank Dr. M. Chernick, Dr. J. Mulder, Grace Hospital 4W Palliative Care, 4S Nursing, and support staff, Home Care, and Major Gordon Jarvis for their kindness and loving care. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Program, care of Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr. Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7.
