EVELYN "EVIE" OCONNOR (nee MULLEN) Peacefully on May 30, 2000 at Misericordia Hospital, Evelyn Lorraine OConnor passed away at the age of 87. Left to cherish Evies memory are her beloved husband, Charles "Charlie", sons Pat (Mary-Ann) and Frank; sisters - Eva, Margaret and Jo-Anne; grandchildren - Lorraine-Marie (Jason) and Anndrea (Brad) of Winnipeg; Tim (Nicole), Jill, Kate (Eyron), Megan, Jamie, Michael and Patrick of Brampton; and three great-grandchildren. Evie was born in Edmonton in 1913. She moved with her family to Selkirk, MB., where her father managed the Merchants and CP Hotels. Evie spoke often of her happy childhood memories with her parents, one brother and six sisters. From there, her family moved to Winnipeg. She met her beloved Charlie as a teenager on Home Street where they both lived. The love they shared was so powerful that when Evies family moved to Toronto, Charlie followed and they were married there on July 5, 1937. The years after the arrival of her twins were spent as a devoted wife and mother. Evies love was expanded once again when she became a grandmother. She enjoyed relaying antics of her youth to her enthralled grandchildren. During this time, she was also an active member of St. Edwards Parish. Evie spent the last number of years enjoying retirement with her husband. this included a move to East Kildonan, where they became members of Holy Redeemer Parish. Evelyns funeral service will be on Saturday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Redeemer Parish with private interment at Chapel Lawn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Home Care and the staff of Concordia, Misericordia and Deer Lodge Hospitals. Mom...
