ETTIE LOVERNA WOODS It is with deep sorrow that we wish to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Ettie Loverna Woods (nee Korczinski), peacefully at home as she wished, surrounded in love by her family on Monday, May 29, 2000. Mom was our "Woman of Substance" and she lived life to its fullest. Whether it be raising her family, gardening, working with the elderly or puttering at the cottage, each task was undertaken with passion and commitmentt. Mom was known as an exemplary listener and to have her friendship was one of lifes best gifts. She treasured her family and devoted her life to being the best wife, mother and grandmother that she could. Ettie leaves to mourn her husband Brian of 47 years; her daughter Daphne; her son Warren and daughter-in-law Colleen (Costin) special friend Nellie Costin and beloved granddaughter Marissa. Mom had many lifelong friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Ettie was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Mary Korczinski, her brothers, Roman and Emile and sister Julia. She leaves to mourn sisters, Evelyn and Elizabeth; brothers, Myron, Russell, Sylvester and their families, as well as John and Marie Woods; sisters-in-law Nan LeFlem, Joan Fresci and their families. Our family wishes to thank the fifth floor staff at St. Boniface for their care of Mom during her hospital stay, and nurses Chris, Martin, Maria and Gloria, together with all the other nurses for their support in providing palliative care for mom at home. Prayers will be said on Sunday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 5 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 St. John Brebeuf Pl. with Rev. Fr. Michael Koryluk presiding. Private family interment at St. Annes Roman Catholic Cemetery, Petersfield, MB. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements; 586-8044.
