Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD THOMAS BLAKE Harold Thomas Blake, 75, died May 3, 2000. Harold was born in 1924 in Winnipeg, Man., and graduated from McGill University, Montreal, in 1948 as a mechanical engineer. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1943 to 1945. He retired in 1984 from the Montreal office of Wartsila NSD Corp, in Switzerland, manufacturer of Sulzer Marine Diesel engines. He resided at Maple Leaf Estates, Port Charlotte, Fla., where he served for many years as president and director of MLE Homeowners Corp. He was also active in the Woodworkers and Amateur Radio clubs. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 176. His wife Margaret died in 1998. Survivors include his sister Mrs. Muriel (Kenneth) Surman of Winnipeg; niece Mrs. Linda Schorath of Calgary; nephews, Blake Surman of Winnipeg, Paul Surman of Ottawa; and two children by a previous marriage, Thomas Blake of Belmont, Mass. and Dr. Susan Blake of Portland, Ore. Burial will be held at a later date in Winnipeg.
