Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY ELIAS On Wednesday, May 31, 2000, Henry Elias passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Left to cherish all the happy memories are his beloved wife of 60 years, Agatha Elias (nee Hamm) sisters, Mary Wiebe, Nettie Peters, Aggie (Peter) Friesen and Betty Elias; children, Jack (Elizabeth) Elias, Shirley (Moe) Gerus, Dennis (Kamala) Elias; grandchildren, Kim (Archie) Myers, Rhonda (Rich) Cenerini, Jennifer (Vik) Singh, Vic and Dave Sukhram; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Terri-Lynn Giszas and Kiran Singh; and many loving relatives and friends. He was born April 2, 1916 in Hochfeld, MB, son of the late Abram and Anna Elias, and moved to Winnipeg 16 years later where he met Agatha and on July 21, 1940 were united in marriage in Niverville, MB. They shared most of their years together in Winnipeg where he worked in the construction industry, spending the latter part of his working life as a construction superintendent for Ladco Homes until his retirement in 1978. Besides his love of his family, his great pleasure came in the form of the wonderful woodworking he created. Our homes are filled with many beautiful keepsakes. He was a kind and gentle man with a big heart; he brought laughter and sunshine to everyone he met. The family would like to express gratitude towards those who provided care for him over the past years. It was much appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. The funeral service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, with viewing at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
