LEAH RENAE KELLY "Nizhibabensiik" February 19, 1970 - June 1, 2000 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Leah Kelly, aged 30 years, beloved wife of Ward Churchill. Leah will be lovingly remembered by her father John and mother Barbara; sisters Rhonda, Dawn and Kristy; brothers Brent, Byron and Micheal; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws and the many friends she made throughout her travels around the world. Raised in Winnipeg, Leah sought to seek knowledge and wisdom in her journeys in the many countries she visited and the many people she met. She touched so many hearts with her kindness, generosity and contagious laughter. Leah eventually settled in Boulder, Colorado where she proudly earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado earlier this spring. An aspiring artist and making plans to head into the film industry, Leah had hoped to return home to make her contributions to the world of arts. This beautiful woman will never be forgotten, her spirit will continue to live among us forever. When we hear the laughter and see the flowers, we will remember. We know "Flea" is now in a safe place to continue her journey. "Our dreams will forever hold you" Always loved by family and friends Services will be held at Onegaming First Nation, near Nestor Falls, Ont. In Leahs memory, donations may be made to Ikwe-Widdjiitiwin. Arrangements are being made through Thomson Funeral Chapel, 783-7211.
