JEAN BRUCE It is with great sorrow and sadness that the family announce the passing of Jean Bruce on Friday, June 2, 2000 at the Betel Home, Selkirk. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Clara (Robert) Milling; daughter-in-law Bev Bruce, son-in-law Keith Wishart; brother Lawrence McInnes; sisters Dorothy (Bill) Earl, Margaret Eady, Ida (Murray) Isleifson and Gladys (Russell) Bell. She also leaves ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, daughter Dorothy, son Stanley and her parents John and Mary McInnes. Jean was born in Giroux, MB on August 8, 1910. She met and married Henry on December 1, 1928, moving to Collins, Ontario in the spring of 1934, then settling in Sioux Lookout to raise their family. She was well known for her home baking which she distributed thru Ideal Grocery, also her sewing skills and other handy crafts. Jean worked at the Zane Hospital, Sioux Lookout in Linen Control, retiring with 25 years service. She was a life member of the Pelican Rebecca Lodge, Sioux Lookout, holding many offices in this organization. After Henrys death, Jean moved to Winnipeg in 1984. A Service of Rememberance will be held on Tuesday, June 6, at 2:00 p.m. at the Steinbach United Church, Steinbach, MB, with Rev. barb janes presiding. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Betel Home for many years of loving care. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, may make a donation in Jeans name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 2B7. "Gone from our lives, but never from our hearts. Memories will last forever." Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
