KARL WEISS With deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of Karl Weiss on Friday, June 2, 2000 at the age of 71. Left to mourn his sudden passing, wife Olga; daughters, Margrit (Ron), Ingrit (Anthony), Angelica (Michael) grandchildren, David (Angie), Daniel (Angela), Amanda, Adam, Ashley, Meghan; great-grandchildren, Damon and Stefan. He was predeceased by his son Hubert, December 7, 1999. Karl is also mourned by three brothers and three sisters and their families in Germany. Dad was the strength of our family. His wisdom guided us, his love surrounded us and no words can describe the loss we feel. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Visitation on Tuesday, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel. Cremation to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H6.

Many will remember Karl for his patience, wisdom, and expertise in his construction trade for many years. He had a waiting list for weeks at a time for his skill. He also had a good business skill sitting on the board with the Canadian German Society Club. They often required his opinion to determine a profit or to prevent a loss with costs keeping them out of the red. He did not have any degree but good financial business sense. A skill very hard to teach to a volunteer board today. He had access to so many good independent skilled trades people to complete a task. No Google, no advertising, no big shots. He was also admired for his July 1st fireworks grand display every year at the camp. Where skill and safety were a must.
