LENA SINCLAIR May 22, 1923 - June 3, 2000 Lena passed away on June 3, with her family at her side. Lena, youngest child of Teeny and Alex Laye, was born in Souris, Manitoba and grew up in Selkirk, Manitoba. As a young woman Lena would usually be found with her two closest companions, her dear sister Jean and lifelong friend Francis. Bob and Lena met at a Selkirk Park dance and were married in 1946 after Bob returned from overseas. After their marriage, Lena devoted her life to her home and family. She was always there to lend a helping hand to her children and we will all remember the countless Sunday dinners she provided to her family and friends and the warmth and happiness of those gatherings. Most of all, Bob and Lena were completely devoted to each other from the time they met to the last moment of Moms life. Dad cared for Mom and tended to all her needs throughout her illness, especially during the time Mom was in hospital. Many people, patients and staff, got to know and love Dad during this difficult time. Lena will be profoundly missed by all her family and friends, but none more so than by Bob. They were the perfect couple. Mom leaves to mourn her darling husband Bob; children, Roberta Sinclair, Jimmy Sinclair (Kathy Barr) and Janet Colatruglio (Charley) grandchildren, Renee, Jamie, Alison, Stefan and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Raven, Shandi, Cori, Jerehmy, Shelby and Justice; brother Jack Laye; sister Jean Kuzenko (Bill) numerous family and friends. Lena was predeceased by her mother and father, sister Mary, brothers, Steve George, Mike and Jim. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, at 1:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Thank-you to the caring staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, who did all they could for Lena during her time there, and thank-you to Judith for her devotion. Flowers gratefully declined, if so desired, donations may be made in Lenas memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St. Wpg R3B 2H8 or to a charity of your choice.
