MARY HRYSHKO It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Hryshko, at her residence, on Saturday, June 3, 2000, at the age of 88. Mary was born in southern Ukraine in 1912 and immigrated to Canada in 1949. She has lived in Winnipeg since that time. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1987, and her great-grandson Timmy in 1993. Mary enjoyed cooking, gardening and entertaining her family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for children and treasured the time spent with her six great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was being reunited with her sister and brother in the Ukraine after a 51 year separation as a result of the war. Even though her health did not permit her to visit the Ukraine, she enjoyed many conversations on the telephone with Paul and Anna. Mary was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Cathedral. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Victor and daughter-in-law Eugenie; grandchildren, Linda (Murray), Larry (Michelle), Diane (Gary) and Gayle; great-grandchildren, Adam, Daniel, Megan, Hannah, Jaclyn, Haley; her sister Anna and brother Paul. Marys family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to all the home care staff who made it possible for her to remain in her home until her passing. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday evening, June 6 between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metropolitan Cathedral of The Holy Trinity, 1175 Main St., with Very Rev. Fr. H. Lakusta officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. We will miss you Baba, Rest in Peace Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements; 586-8044.
