ROYDON ERIC DOUGLAS CORBY On June 3, 2000 Roy Corby passed away at the age of 93. Roy was born December 25, 1906 in Bozeat North Hampton, England, moving to Lincoln, England in his early years. In 1913 Roy immigrated to Canada where they settled in the south Fort Rouge area, receiving his education at Lord Roberts School. Roy was predeceased by his wife Nora in June 1999; as well as brothers, William, George, Alec, Horace Jr. He is survived by his son Ken and wife Janette and grandchildren Jo-Ann (Craig) Jocelyn Doug, and Susan (Craig) Perkins as well as great grandchildren Tyson, Scott, and Alexis. Roy was an avid sports enthusiast being active in football, soccer, and baseball. He was an original member of Uneedas Fastball Team before joining Elites in the Wesley Park League. In later years Roy was active in both golf and bowling, as well as a coach in fastball. Roys professional field covered 61 years in the printing business with Birt Printing and Baker and Sons. He was a member of the Typographical Union 191 for 50 years. Roy retired in 1981, and resided in the St. James area for the rest of his years. Services will be held on Tuesday June 6, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
