Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELENORE MARIE FAST Peacefully on June 4, 2000, Elenore Marie Fast (nee Fehderau) went to be with her Lord and Saviour, healing her from all her sickness and disease. Elenore was especially thankful for the loving care and affection that her husband Neil provided her and that she could be taken care of in the comfort of their home. Elenore was predeceased by her mother and father, Louise and Nicolai Fehderau and brother Harold. She is survived by her husband Neil; stepdaughter Marlene and husband Victor Janzen; stepson Neil Jr. and wife Lois; and six grandchildren, Thomas, Nathan, Adam, Benjamin, Hilary and Timothy; also sisters, Lillian (Peter Dyck) and Rita (Jake Willms) and sister-in-law Nancy Fehderau and many nieces and nephews. Elenore was born in Kitchener, ON on August 24, 1933. She spent her childhood and early years in Kitchener before moving to Detroit and then Ann Arbor, MI. Here she pursued her 30 year career, first as an Administrator at the Henry Ford Hospital, then Conference Coordinator at the University of Michigan and later as an Administrator at Electro Arc Manufacturing. In 1989, Elenore and Neil were married and she moved to Winnipeg, MB. Elenore had many talents and interests. She was a patron of the arts and an artist in her own right. She loved painting watercolours and Dresden china. Theatre, music, and gourmet cooking also gave Elenore great enjoyment. Elenore loved animals and during the summer months much time was spent looking after her bird sanctuary at Victoria Beach. She loved reading - never a day would pass without having spent some time with a book. She was well-read and very knowledgeable in current and historical subject matters. Elenore also loved travelling and was privileged to have joined a heritage tour to seek her roots beginning in Holland, then Prussia (Poland) and the Ukraine. She was able to see her fathers childhood home in the Ukraine as well as her grandparents estate during this time. This was inspiration to write her fathers story from his diaries and writings. At the time of her death she was in the process of working on her mothers biography. Elenore valued relationships and maintained correspondence with the many friends she made in Michigan. Her greatest love was her relationship with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Her knowledge of Gods Word was extensive, and she spent time each day studying the Bible. Today she is with her Lord having received the manifestation of her healing. A celebration of Elenores life will be held at the Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church, 145 Henderson Hwy., on Thursday, June 8 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Keith Poysti officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Sincere thanks are extended to Drs. A. Vajcner and G. Krepart. Special thanks are extended to the staff on the Palliative Care Ward at St. Boniface Hospital and to the Palliative Care Drs. F. Crow, M. Harlos, and P. Daeninck for all their love, care and compassion. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to the Mennonite Brethren Mission and Service International, 2-169 Riverton Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2L 2E5.
