JOHANNA (ANNIE) H. VAN DER ZANDE (nee STROET) Our gentle mother passed away peacefully at home, Monday, June 5, 2000. She was born on February 11, 1912 in Heemstede, the Netherlands. Mom will be deeply missed by her husband Nick; children, Frank (Diana), Ria, Elly (Jeremy), Nick (Diane) and John (Shelley) grandchildren, Ian, Greg (Kristina), Linda, Mark, Justin, Stephen and Jamie; surviving brothers, Nick, Piet (Aaf), Harrie (Lena) and Cor and surviving sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and her long time friends. Mom was gentle, good natured, yet had great strength. Family was the focus of her life and she was the family historian and "kinkeeper", keeping us connected to our roots. We would like to extend an extra special thank you to Dr. D. Marsh for his care and concern, to Ome Harrie and Tante Lena, to Anne Breman, to Riki Kuypers and John van Osch and to Bill and Tini Roelofs for the loving care you showed Mom. In lieu of flowers or donations, Mom would like you to visit someone. She valued the visits, phone calls and letters she continued to receive from her extended family and good and loyal friends. They truly kept her life rich and full. Funeral services, 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8 at St. Alphonsus Church, Munroe and Brazier.
