LESLIE KOVACS Peacefully, on Monday, June 5, 2000, at the St. Boniface Hospital with his family by his side, Leslie Kovacs passed away at the age of 90 years. He was predeceased by his wife Betts in 1992 and one brother Joe. Leslie leaves to cherish his memory four children, Joe (Carol), Marlene (Claude Steeves), Ken (Chris), all of Winnipeg and Sharron of Vancouver; four grandchildren, Wendy of Vancouver, Gordon (Leona), Glen (Allison) of Minneapolis and Jonathon; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Alexander. He also leaves one brother Mike (Marg) a sister-in-law Gizelle; nieces, Sherri, Peggy (Bill) nephew David (Priscilla) and many friends. Dad was a longtime dedicated employee of Canada Packers for most of his working life. Most important to our father was his devotion to his wife and family. Special thanks for the wonderful care he received from the staff on 5A South at St. Boniface Hospital. Prayers will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 8 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 9 at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 847 St. Marys Rd. with Fr. Gerry Ward presiding. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements; 233-4949 or toll free 1-888-233-4949.
