MARY DOBSON (nee SMITH) August 27, 1918 - June 4, 2000 Surrounded by family on Sunday, June 4, 2000 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, Man., Mary Dobson, aged 81 years of Ponemah, Man. passed away. Mary was born in Lancaster, England and immigrated at the tender age of three to Canada, where she was educated in Transcona and married in Ericksdale. She and husband George farmed there until moving to Transcona where they resided until they retired to Ponemah in 1979. She was predeceased by her husband George; brothers, Earnest and Wilfred; sister Edith and daughters-in-law, June and Rose. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Bertha (Cecil) Campbell; sister-in-law Lillian; sons, David (Bev), Keith (Florence), Lloyd (Linda), Gary, Norm (Sandy) daughters, Gloria and Linda (Graham), 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a multitude of "adopted kids". Mom and Gramma, to all who came to know her, always made room at the table and in her heart for one more. She was one of the special people in the world and will be sadly missed by all who came to know her. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, June 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. We, the family would like to express our thanks to all the staff at the Johnson Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care she received.
