BRUCE A. WAVER 1927 - 2000 Private Family Service Peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2000, our wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed from this life in his 74th year at the Health Sciences Centre. Born on February 4, 1927. His last residence was at Lions Manor, Winnipeg, MB. Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Dorothy Waver; also by his grandson Troy Isfeld. To cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Marie (Buckley) daughters, Barbara Dion, Elizabeth Homeniuk, (Dennis), Marilyn Isfeld (Charlie), Susanna Winko (Gary), April Waver, Pamela Waver (Tim) sons, Tom (Sharon), Michael (Gail) and David (Heather) sister Joyce Shepherd and aunt Gladys Hepburn. "Pop" will be missed by his 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Throughout his life, Bruce was involved in many sporting organizations, a few of which were Sir John Franklin Community Centre, Oxford Heights Community Centre, Kinsmen Little League Baseball, St. Boniface Saints Jr. Hockey Club, AAA Hockey and TMHA. In the 70s, Bruce volunteered his efforts in the Winnipeg Beach Fire Department and helped implement the first skating rink at Winnipeg Beach. After years of service as Chief of Security at the Weston Hotel Bruce enjoyed eight years of retirement. During Bruces retirement, he was active at Lions Place as President of the Residence Council. "Gunsmoke" and his "Scooter" were Pops forte!!! A private family gathering will be held, in memory. Distance never separates hearts that really care.
