JOSEPH MICHAEL GOLESKI Peacefully, on Tuesday, June 6, 2000, Joseph Goleski, passed away at the age of 83 at Fred Douglas Lodge. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 50 years, Zina; sons, Garry (Monica) and Bill (Susan) and grandchildren, Kevin, Vanessa, Ryan, Cara and Jenna; brother John; sisters, Lucy and Rose; many in-laws and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sons, James and Lorne; and daughter Darlene; parents, Mike and Annie; brother Frank; sisters, Mary, Kay, Vicky and Audrey. Joe was born June 16, 1916 in Mikado, SK. He came to Winnipeg in the 1940s and helped his parents farm. He married Zina on July 29, 1950. He retired from the City of Winnipeg in 1982. Joseph loved spending his time helping his sons, enjoying the outdoors, fishing and picking berries and mushrooms. He was a great and loving husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for their kindness and compassionate care. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Prayers will be said on Friday evening, June 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, June 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor St., with Rev. Fr. M. Kouts officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. God looked around his garden and found an empty space. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest, Gods garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements 586-8044.
