ERIKA KATHRINA (KAY) GUSTAFSON (nee JONSSON) Peacefully on Wednesday June 7, 2000 surrounded by family, mom passed away at the Grace Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Luther in 1982; her sister May in 1991 and brother Roy in 1996. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Linda (Reg), Darlene (John), Sharon (Sandy), and son Kevin; grandchildren, Lori (Jacques), Kristine (Dave), Ashley and Stephanie. Great grandchildren, Dylan and Kayla, Klover and Gerrett. Sister Gloria; brother Willie (Mary) and brother-in-law Brian and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born September 4, 1922 in Hallen, Jamtlands, Sweden and came to Winnipeg in 1928. She married Luther October 30, 1943 and then moved to Starbuck, Manitoba, where they farmed and raised their family. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid while living in Starbuck. Before moving to Winnipeg she worked at Central Park Lodge until 1983. They moved to Winnipeg in 1977 and enjoyed her new home and had wonderful neighbours. She was a wonderful cook and baker and always put the coffee on for whom ever came to visit. Many thanks to the Nurses and Doctors on 3N at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Manitoba Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, R3C 2B7. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday June 12 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Visitation will take place one half hour prior to the service time. Interment and reception will follow. Pallbearers will be Randy Johnson, Paul Johnson, Brian Johnson, Mike Tessier, Tony Prosolowski, and John van Bruggen.
