Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLORIA ELLA ADA METROW (HARRISON) It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Gloria Metrow on Thursday June 8, 2000. Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Alex; children, Richard, Esther, Andy, Philip (Donna), Tim, Dan (Fifi), and Steve (Racquel) Spuzak; stepchildren, Brenda, Ray, Rod, and Shelley Metrow; grandchildren, Valerie, Shawn, Heather, Amanda, Rebecca, Andrea, Michael; and great-grandchild, Trey. Gloria was predeceased by her parents, George and Ella Harrison; and her brother Dennis. She leaves to mourn her brothers, Dewey (Betty) Harrison, Donald (Priscilla) Harrison; and her sister Virginia (Doug) Clark; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Gloria was born in Petersfield, MB on June 6, 1930. When Gloria first moved to Selkirk she was employed at Electro-Knit. While working there she made many friends, including her husband. Gloria will be remembered for her generous spirit, concern for others and many acts of kindness. One of her favourite flowers, which she enjoyed collecting, were rosebuds. Gloria maintained her strong Christian faith until her passing. She had full faith in Jehovah Gods promise as stated in Revelation 21:4: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Selkirk Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 12 Hawthorne Place, with Mr. Richard Downing officiating. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.

Thanks for your comment, Anne. I remember your family also. We lived so far away from your family and that is why we had so little interaction. I do remember writing some letters to you when I was a child. I sure miss our mother. She was a gentle person in our lives during the time we lived on the farm, where we all worked hard and learned harsh lessons, too.
